Arthritis had made it impossible to get the ring over her knuckle, and it had been sitting in a drawer. The challenge was not simple resizing. It required modifying the ring in a way that would allow it to pass over an arthritic knuckle and then sit properly on the finger — without compromising the design or the integrity of the piece.
